Toronto, ON—June 5, 2011—Rainmaker Research, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of Spell Catcher X version 10.4, a significant upgrade to the industry’s most advanced collection of writing productivity tools. Spell Catcher checks spelling in up to 16 languages, shorthands, thesaurus lookup, and much more. Version 10.4 adds MobileMe Syncing, updated linguistics, user interface improvements, and many other new features and enhancements. Version 10.4 is a free upgrade for those that purchased on or after May 1, 2010, and $14.95US for others.
New in Spell Catcher X 10,4
- MobileMe Syncing of Spell Catcher Reference Documents and Modify Selection Macros. Spell Catcher allows you to selectively syncing your references, and includes the ability to Undo the changes from a MobileMe Sync.
- Styled text shorthand glossary expansions and completions (requires Mac OS X 10.6 or later).
- Ability to “nest” shorthand expansions—in other words, include shorthands to be expanded within other shorthands.
- Added the ability to define “numeric unit” shorthands.
- Many user interface enhancements and improvements throughout.
- Updated Spell Catcher’s background “helper” applications to run in 64-bit mode.

Spell Catcher X version 10.4 requires Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Earlier versions of Spell Catcher X are still available for download for those using earlier versions of Mac OS X.
Spell Catcher X retails for $39.95.
Users who purchased Spell Catcher X version 10.2.x or 10.3.x on or after May 1, 2010 are eligible for a free upgrade.
Other licensed users of SpellCatcher X version 10.2.x or 10.3.x can purchase upgrades for $14.95.
Owners of Spell Catcher X 10.1 or earlier versions of SpellCatcher X can upgrade for $19.95.
Spell Catcher X users can purchase language plug-ins for Dutch, Canadian English, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Danish, Russian and Norwegian Bokmål for an additional $10 each.
