I am spell checking a selection. The misspelled word is"l944" (that is a lowercase "L" as the first letter). The proper spelling is all numbers, "1944". However, because of the feature that allows quick entry of alternatives, when I press the number 1 (both from the row and the numeric pad), I get the first alternative rather than the number "1". Is there any way to insert a number into the "Word to use" box?

Hi,
I can't believe that something so simple has been overlooked for so long... no there doesn't seem to be a way to type a digit into the suggestion dialog's "word to use" field... no one has ever mentioned this before as an issue.
Evan has a work around for this in the Mac version, so I'll have to do something for the next version... perhaps holding down an additional key combination such as CTRL+ALT or proceeding the numeric key with a backslash (a common escape character).
Thank you for bringing this to my attention,
John
