I wonder if there is any way to improve the guessing of SCX for correct spelling. I am finding more and more often that SCX does not offer me the correct word that I have missed spelled. What is even more bothersome is that the built in system wide spell catcher provided by Apple almost always has it right. Here is just one example: in typing the word “supernatual” out of the seven suggestions, SCX doesn’t even offer the most obvious “supernatural”! Control click, and it is the only word offered by OSX.

As I mentioned (and maybe this is just me and my misspelling tendencies) the OS’s spell checking seems to guess better at what I am after than SCX. Can the system or ability of SCX be improved or tweaked? Could it be programmed to "learn" my tendencies? (I'm not talking about creating shorthands, I know I can do that with each individual case. I mean more of a stylistic adaptation).

This will be vastly improved in Spell Catcher X 10.3 (coming in a few weeks). Spell Catcher X 10.3 includes a major new version of the Proximity Linguistic System, and one of its new features is a new type of spelling database that (along with new code) offers waaaaay better suggestions. You won't be disappointed.

Still looking for good beta testers... drop a line to our feedback address if you're interested.

(and I just checked - for “supernatual”, the first suggestion is “supernatural”, as you would expect)

Surely, you don't think I would overlook such a critical item as it actually being listed when my very point is that it is not :excl:

As the included attached screen capture shows, after highlighting your entry of "supernatual" as you can see there is no suggesting for "supernatural." Typing it in myself, brings up the same suggestive spellings, just without the command keys.

Sorry, should have made it more obvious (stated explicitly?) that I did my little test using the build of Spell Catcher X 10.3 I'm working on. That's why I asked if you were interested in beta testing...
