I believe I followed all the instructions for downloading SpellCatcher X, the license is in place and the check-mark is on the tool-bar on my new MacBook running OS 10.5.3. Before downloading I uninstalled 8.0, leaving the documents and references in place in the library, I thought, but I can't find them. Unfortunately, my trash empties automatically, so I can't retrieve anything.
The Problems: When I click the Spell Catcher checkmark I get a list of services with "interactive checking" checked, but it does not workk (for instance, it let workk go by without a dialog box (in any application) and click "check selected word" or "check selection," nothing happens.
When I click "preferences" nothing happens.
When I click "about Spell Catcher" I get the proper box for 10.2.3.
I'm a frustrated old man who has come to depend on this excellent program. I need help. Please. If I have to start over I'll start over, but I'm afraid I need step-by-step help.

I responded via email, sounds like you have a damaged installation, might just be a preference file.
This sort of thing is faster to troubleshoot over email, so try the advice in the email I sent you and reply back with the results.
