Hi folks,
This is a general appeal to all macintosh users of Spell Catcher... from Evan's partner, John, the Window's guy. (Actually I used to be a mac person until Apple went through it's bad days with Amelio and technological flops like OpenDoc).
Based on web traffic and sales that we have made since taking over from C&G - it's apparent that the macintosh version of Spell Catcher is doing great when compared with the window's version. That's not surprising considering that C&G was basically a macintosh software supplier, that Evan's program deservedly won an award at this year's Apple Development Conference, and that Macintosh users are generally more interested in loading great software onto their computers.
Perhaps you macintosh users can help me out... if you see or know of someone using a Windows box, and think that might enjoy the Windows version of Spell Catcher as much as you enjoy the mac version... let them know about this site and suggest a free download to try the product out.
If you have any ideas about how to help reach more Windows users, feel free to advise...
That's all I can ask,
Thanks,
John Tytler, Author - Spell Catcher for Windows

Seems to me that you have got to get it easily and quickly before the general public. You might try posting a shareware version on the web with either limited features or full version which disables after a short while (3 weeks). Not just your own site but places like Download.com / Tucows.com etc. Another idea would be bundling a limited version with software for scanners, fax software, printer software etc (any equipment where one is likely to edit text). Does the windows version spell check other languages like the Mac version?? If so, you've got a very broad potential market.
Keep up the good work!!! I'll try to get some Windows customers for you!

Doesn't the winbl... version work in demo mode until a serial number is entered?
Pursuing bundling deals is a very good idea. Trying to get a version into the hands of well know and widely read journalists (David Coursey springs to mind... while a winbl... guy, he does seem to find value in things Mac) would be even better.

what is meant by "winbl... version"? Since "winbl" was used twice in the post, I'm guessing that it wasn't a typo.
Thanks,

I think some Windows users may also have uttered this phrase at one point or another.
Paul can correct me if I'm wrong...
