What do I do to get a box of suggested corrections to immediately drop down (with numbers to facilitate choice) whenever a misspelled word is created. Thanks.
I have OS X 10.5.6

Watch our video tutorials to see if that answers your question(s).

Thanks. I did the Crash Course Tutorial from the help menu but did not see the videos at your website.
Another question: I have a "yellow check" for SC on my top bar and also a "red book with a yellow check and a flag" on my dock. If I first click on the top check, I get an abbreviated menu with 5 items. If I first click on the bottom check (opening the preferences box), close that and then click on the top check, I get the full menu I'm looking for. But if I close that and try to open it again, I get the abbreviated menu.
How can I get the top "check" to always give me the full menu?
Thanks

I did this and still have the same result.
Repeating, the only way I can get a full menu pulldown from the top bar is to:
1. click on the program app symbol on the bottom to bring up the preferences,
2. close the preferences,
3. click on the top icon.
This gives me the full menu one time only. To get it again, I have to repeat steps 1-3. What am I doing wrong?

Is Spell Catcher the active input source (you see the yellow checkmark icon) when this happens?
What are the exact contents of this "abbreviated" menu?
What version of Mac OS X are you using?
It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong, it sounds like something's not right on your system.

Ahhh, you said the magic word! Active! I was experimenting without having a document open using SC so the top bar "check" was only active when I activated with the bottom icon. Then it was inactive again. Sorry for the confusion.
To complete your question, the abbreviated menu has Flag, Show Keyboard Viewer, Hide Input Source Name, Open International.
Thanks for your help... I'm sure I'll be back with more questions later. Jaime
