Hi,

These are some features that I would like to see in Spell Catcher:

•The LookUp Window, Thesaurus :
Have the definition line come up first. Then click on the one I want to look for the synonym etc

•Show words in list form. Its hard to read when they are in one line. Have it as an option

•Show Thesaurus list as box form :

|-------------------|-------------------|
| Synonyms | Antonyms |
|-------------------|-------------------|
| near Synonyms | near Antonyms |
|-------------------|-------------------|

•List words according to the number of syllables to conform with the grammar practice in Grammarian of using simpler words to express an idea.

•You need to improve on the UK English definitions. It is not at the same level as the US English.

•You could use the Find Word feature to look for a word with a specific construction, such as, ??EE?E should find Wheeze, Fleece, Sneeze etc...
Also use Wild card for any letter. Construct Anagrams from different combination of letters. Also add flexibility in specifying vowels or consenants of a particular range

•The look up window should be sent to the back so that I can work on the document in any application. Right now I have to call it up each time I need it. This interrupts the continuity of my word/synanym finding process.

•Keep Dictionary and Thusarous in same window rather than tabs. Click on the word will provide further detail into the word being examined.

•Use drag and drop words into window. Keep window active in background rather than the topmost.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions. First off, tell me what version of Spell Catcher you're using. Some of the features you request do exist in Spell Catcher X (I'm guessing you're using Spell Catcher 8 due to the reference to "tabs" for thesaurus and dictionary):

I know, and there's not a whole lot we can do about it. Since we license our spelling/thesaurus/dictionary from somone, all we can really do is bug them about it - or look for a different source, or Look Up from another source (a future direction for Spell Catcher X and Plus).

This feature already exists in Spell Catcher X - crossword and wild card look-ups from the Dictionary (the theaurus doesn't have this capability). We will look into adding it to the other products as well.

This is already the case for Spell Catcher X. It might make it into the other versions at some point as well.

I guess you're referring to the fact that the Look Up window in SC8 floats above the others. You can keep it open and type into your document by typing the escape key - the focus for keystrokes should go back to your document window. But the window will still float, and since it's kind of large it might obscure your document.

I thought this was already possible. Maybe you can clarify exactly how you want this to work?

I'll mull over your other ones when I've got a chance as well.

Thanks!
