[Charlie Downs]

I hear regular system alerts. I hear iTunes music. I head the audio from my EyeTV which puts my cable tv on my computer screen. It has a stereo miniature phone plug which plugs into the computer's audio output jack next to the microphone jack. The computer is a 17" Mac Book Pro.

"Play sound effects through: Headphones" is the only choice available.

A screen-shot of the Sound Effects tab is attached.

The hardware device is a Microsoft amplifier/speaker I obtained a long time ago. It is especially nice for music because it has two treble speakers and a large woofer.

Evan, I just downloaded version 10.3.4. Suddenly, the SpellCatcher audio is playing through my amplifier.

Bizarre. There's certainly nothing different in 10.3.4 I can think of that would address this problem. Oh well, at least it's working for you...
