Recently, long after I upgrades to the 10.3.4, I've been experiencing the spinning beach ball every time SC makes a auto correction (erases letters but before any and replaced) This happens in both Mail and Safari - I've yet to see it happen in any other app. Help. Ghostwriter is a help but normally misses the last paragraph before the freeze besides it truly interrupts the work flow. I've turned off auto correct so maybe that will help - but then that removes a significant reason to us SC. I've deleted the preferences - that did nothing to help it still freezes the Safari app. requiring a force quit.

Help

Running OS X 10.6.4, I am having the same issues as above, necessitating force quits of Mail or Safari, but never Spell catcher.I do have inline grammar and spell checking enabled.
Any ideas about the cause? I will turn off inline grammar checking, which I have only recently started using.

The cause is a bug in WebKit's "Check Spelling While Typing" implementation. You need to deselect Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Check Spelling While Typing.
