SCX causes Apple Mail to hang sometimes when I'm replying to an email that includes quoted text, and I'm trying to insert a SCX shorthand expansion above the quoted text. This is my expansion:

Still having problems with this. Seems that if I rely to an email and the quoted text is below in the reply email, and then try and insert an SCX expansion above the quoted text, and my expansion has return characters, then it hangs Apple Mail.

This continues to be a problem.

No, Apple has not yet fixed this bug.
Just use Spell Catcher X to check your spelling interactively instead of the Mac OS X system-wide checker.
ONLY Apple can fix this. I cannot do anything on my end. It's deeply-rooted in WebKit's spell checking support (for the Mac OS X spell checker) and text input handling.
And I mean deeply…
