I'm using OS 10.6.4 on a (32-bit only) Intel Core Duo iMac. I never used to have this problem whe I was using an earlier version of Spell Catcher, but now with Spell Catcher X (v. 10.3.6) when I make corrections in Mail or Safari messages— including this message— they are correctly inserted into the text in Spell Catcher's "Check Selection" window, but after I click "Finish" to dismiss that window I usually (but not always!) find that the corrections have not been inserted into my Mail or Safari message. Example: see "whe" in the previous sentence: "I never used to have this problem whe I was using…[etc.]."
This is also happening in other apps, such as the text editor Bean. I just tried it there, and Spell Catcher inserted a correction correctly, and then immediately afterward I tried it again in Bean, and it didn't!
What am I missing? Should I be trashing Spell Catcher's .plist file? Frankly, the trouble with that is, much as I hate to admit it, I don't really understand many of Spell Catcher's preference settings.
Corrections are not inserted into documents

I take is you are using the Check Selection command? Which one? From the Input menu, Services menu, or Dock menu?

Using "Check All" via keyboard shortcut, Command-Control-=.

Does it happen if you use Check Selection? Does it happen with these commands from the Services menu and/or Spell Catcher's Dock menu?
Always/only in Mail and Safari? Ever any other apps?

I'm sorry, but I'm not cleer on what you mean by "a 100% reproducible case, with exact steps to reproduce."
How about this: I just tried to spell-check the above sentence, containing the deliberate error "cleer." Highlighting the sentence by dragging across it, I tried to invoke "Check Selection" from the Spell Catcher menu in the top menu bar. I got the message that "no text was found in the pasteboard." Trying the same way again a second time, Spell Catcher's "Check Selection" window did appear, I double-clicked the correct spelling, "clear," in the suggestion list, the change was made in the "Check Selection" window, but was not passed through to this Safari "Fast Reply" field. Trying the exact same method a third and fourth time resulted each time in a "no text was found in the pasteboard" message.
Highlighting that same sentence and using the "Check Selection" command from the Dock OR from the Services menu, a "Check Selection" window appears, the correction is made in that window, but the correction is not passed along to this field.
And yes, it happens in other apps. I had already mentioned that it happens in Bean. Just now, it worked fine from the top menu, the Dock menu and the Services menu in TextEdit whether I highlighted text by dragging across it or by Command-A. However, in TextWrangler the top menu and Services menu "Check Selection" commands worked fine whether invoked by keyboard shortcut, Services menu or top menu, but the Dock menu command resulted in a "no text was found in the pasteboard" message. Repeating with the Dock menu command yielded the same result twice more.
Inconsistencies abound.

You say this never happened with the previous version of Spell Catcher X. Can you recall whether that version was Spell Catcher X 10.3.5 (immediate predecessor) or some earlier version?
Do you recall whether you might have updated or installed any other software between the time this worked fine and you noticed that it started behaving this way?
I might need some additional info from you in order to solve this. It's conceivable that the problem is a damaged Spell Catcher preferences file - but my hunch is that it's something else. Anyway, can you please contact me at our feedback email address (Spell Catcher application, Help > Send Feedback by E-Mail) with a note about this forum discussion? It will be quicker to solve this via email.
