Per your suggestion of encouraging the software developers to use the latest ViseX installer, I made this suggestion to the makers of Accordance here:

http://www.accordanc...918

One of the programmers response was this (Quote):

"Tom:

We had been holding off upgrading to the latest version, as major upgrades often cause more problems than they solve, at least until the bugs are worked out. We recently tried it, though, as it claimed to have some good features and (as you claim) fix the SpellCatcher conflict. If I recall, 9.1's installers were even made with 4.0. As noted here, 4.0 doesn't even seem to solve the SpellCatcher issue. It has also, as unfortunately expected introduced innumerable bugs and made our installers much less reliable. For now, until they clean up the pervasive bugs in 4.0, we are going to have to keep using 3.x. A few of the features are nice, but it isn't worth problematic installers costing us time and money and poorer user interaction, and it doesn't even solve the problems. So, for now, SpellCatcher will continue to be an issue unless that developer fixes it from that side."

Any comments? (at least on the part pertaining to SCX).
Tom

Interesting. I only tested this with the Installer for ViseX 4.x itself. I don't think I could find any others that were built with it. I don't doubt what they say, though.

Anyway, it's not possible to fix it from my side, since it's not Spell Catcher that's crashing.
