All of a sudden....Spellcatcher refuses to appear in the Input Menu though it is checked on in International Preferences.
I've tried removing/replacing Spell Catcher.component then restart. I've tried quitting SC directly and via Quickeys.
Spellcatcher appears twice in the Internation Preferences, both times as an Input Method of Roman type.
History:
The problem is occuring on my G5 desktop. SC has worked for years on this machine.
I did a migration today of a user account from the G5 to a new Macbook.
I noticed the SC input method not working sometime after finishing the migration.
I installed a new Airport Supreme a few days ago. SC Input method still worked.
I upgraded to SC 10.3.7 a week ago. SC Input method still worked.
I see no connection to the above history and SC Input method not working, but just stating my case history.
I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a 1st generation Dual 2 gHz G5 desktop.

Any suggestions before I reinstall ?
Thanks,

Make sure there's only ONE copy of the Spell Catcher.component installed. Look in (top level) /Library/Components and (HOME) ~/Library/Components. It should only exist in your home folder. If you say it's appearning twice in International Prefs, that's a clue that more than one copy may be installed. For sure *something* is hosed. Might have happened during the migration. No idea, really.
Also try the advice in this FAQ, as it generally applies to Leopard and Tiger.

It is fixed.
Problem indeed was due to two copies of Spell Catcher.component.
Old version in root level library and correct version in home folder library.
Can't really say how it happened but it's disturbing to think it likely was caused by using the Migration feature.
But that's why I backup three ways each and every day and still proceed with caution.
Thanks for your (late night) help.
It is appreciated.
