I noticed a few months back that whenever I want to check the spelling of a word, say on a web page, I select the word, go down to the Spell Catcher's icon on the dock and select "Check Selected Word" that the window appears for a second and then loses focus and disappears. If I go to the Spell Catcher app I see the pane but this is becoming a pain. Can you tell me how to fix this?

What version of Mac OS X?
What version of Spell Catcher X?
What application(s) do you see this in?
Are you control-clicking Spell Catcher’s Dock icon to see the menu?
Does it happens when using the same command from the Services menu?
What about Spell Catcher’s Input menu?
Again, not anything I've seen or know about…
The Check Word window is one that should float above all other apps, regardless of whether Spell Catcher is the active application. It should appear regardless of what space Spell Catcher is assigned to as well.

I can't reproduce this, and haven't had any other reports, either.

I'm using OS 1.6.6, Spell Catcher ver 10.3.7. I've seen this in numerous applications including Firefox and MS Word. When I use the Services window in Firefox it goes to Spell Catcher and an enlarged version of the Check Selection pane. But the focus is not Firefox, but Spell Catcher. When I close that window the focus goes back to Firefox. Don't know about the Input menu. How is that supposed to work?
I think I just solved my problem. I'm now remembering that I'm using an app that hides all but the active application. It's called Shoo (http://pariahware.com/shooapps.php). I set Spell Catcher to never hide (it had been set to the default to hide after 30 seconds). And that seemed to do the trick.
