Hi,

I just installed MS Office 2011 and the shorthand expansion works in Excel, but not Word (where it is most needed), when Word is in [Compatibility Mode]. SE works fine in .docx format.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Klaus

Should work fine, does for me.

But I need more clarification:

What exactly is "Compatibility Mode"?
What are you referring to by "SE works fine in .docx format"?

Please supply your version of Spell Catcher X, version of Mac OS X, steps to reproduce.

Maybe look at this FAQ regarding Outlook. Shouldn't be needed for Word, but just FYI.

In general SC works for me in Office 2011 as well. However, every now and then Word doesn't expand shorthands. Rarely but sometimes. No idea how to reproduce that. When I restart SC it works again. My impression is that SC under some circumstances doesn't "see" what is typed in Office 2011. I have the impression this occurs sometimes when I switched between applications and then come back to Office 2011.

I guess the meaning of "Compatibility Mode" is that the document is saved in Word 2011 compatible with Word 97-2004 (.doc format) while Office 2008 and 2011 using by default the new .docx format.
