I'm on a MacPro running OS X 10.6.7, just updated from 10.5. I am also using Spell Catcher X 10.3.7. I have an abbreviation expansion for a signature that I use in Apple Mail version 4.5. Often when I type the abbreviation and then a space to trigger the expansion, it does not completely display, and Mail gives me the eternal Spinning Beachball of Death. The only way I've found to fix this is force-quitting Mail. Fortunately, when I re-launch Mail the message is (so far) still there, even though I did not save it as a draft. Sometimes I must do this force quitting several times before the expansion works properly in Mail. Both Spell Catcher and Mail are running in 64-bit mode.

This does not occur in other programs like TextEdit. Any idea what's going on?

Of course I know what's going on. Search the forums.

Thank you for your reply. I always check forums first before writing about a problem but did not run across that one.
