Lion allows holding down a key to produce a list of accented characters relevant to that key. Spell catcher seems to cancel this facility. If I deactivate the input method it restores the facility but doesn't spell check at all. What is going on? When typing in this forum it doesn't work at all.
Is this a known problem? I have seen a much earlier post about someone who had this problem but it seemed that the spell checking worked. I am using British english.

Unfortunately, this feature isn't available when any input method is active. I asked Apple if it was possible somehow, they, well, didn't respond. Usually means the answer is "no". Too bad...
