Lion has a feature which enables the user to select accent characters while typing, on the fly:

It would be nice to have both Spell Catcher features and this accent character feature.

On the other hand, if you don't need to type accent characters, but do want to be able to type repeated characters,
like thisssssssssssssss........

Then you might consider it a desirable feature of Spell Catcher that it re-enables the ability to type repeated characters.
