I installed Spell Catcher on a Windows 2000 laptop. It does not recognize or allow me to add applications that are running in order to invoke interactive checking and glossary expansion. What is wrong?

Make sure that the Spell Catcher checkmark in the "status tray" (usually the lower right corner or your desktop) is yellow. If it is red then click on the checkmark using the left mouse button and select "Interactive Checking" from the menu that appears.

Let me know with a follow-up post if this did the trick...

If the checkmark is already yellow, then Spell Catcher is not getting key strokes. There must be another application or utility running on your machine which is not properly passing keystrokes along. If this is the case get back to me here and we’ll look into it further.

Thanks,
John

The checkmark is yellow. The only application that SC says it has “encountered” is Internet Explorer although others are running. Inateractive checking is on.

If you open up Notepad and type "dd" to get a date expansion, what happens? (I'm assuming that you haven't adjusted the date expansion)

What color is Spell Catcher's checkmark when you are typing into Notepad? (It's most likely still yellow).

Try typing some words in error into Notepad, does Spell Catcher report the errors?
