When a correction box is displayed with suggested corrections while working in Eudora 6.1 clicking on the correct word does or typing on the corrected word does not work — the correct word can only be corrected by using the key shortcut Command number.
Note I have been with you since Thunder 7.
Also while I am at it, is there some way to eliminate the need for both the command and number to make the change. It seems to me that a former version only required the number.

I'm not sure what you mean by "typing on the corrected word"? Can you elaborate?
Do you only observe this behavior in Eudora 6.1?
As for no need for command-keys, yes, there is a way but it's off by default because it (can) impede workflow. If you turn on the "keystrokes go to the Suggest Spelling window" preference in Spell Catcher Preferences/Interactive/Spelling tab then you only have to type the number.
If this weren't the case (never requiring the command key, even if keystrokes were still being routed to your document) you couldn't type a number while the Suggest Spelling window was open!
(BTW you might not want to post your email address here, as it's a public forum and guests and search engine robots can access these posts. I've edited yours out, hope that's ok with you)

Evan,
Thanks for your prompt response. I retested operation in Eudora 6.1 and find that SpellCheck interactive now works as you expect. I can only assume that my frustrations in typing a long complex email while making many typing mistakes may cause me to be using only single clicks — or I was not double clicking as rapid as is required — It may be that the possible slow double click was recognized as two single clicks. I noted this as a possible error during my retest (therefore I just readjusted my double click rate — it was set to fast, now set for slow).
As to "typing on the corrected word"? I was referring to box above the suggested replacements containing the word being corrected. I believe my problem may have been it takes one click on the box to select it and a second click to place the curser into the word and I may not have noted this at the time. However my memory is that I tried several times to place the curser, but my memory may not be correct. Correction, I just retested this on this document and found when you accidentally click on the word to be corrected a second it turns back to blue which cannot be removed by clicking the blue word. You must now click in the white area of the box to set it up to apply the curser.
Or this whole thing could have been an anomaly that I find happening in Panther occasionaly. When strange things happen they sometimes disappear on the next use of the program.
Keep the good work.
Regards
Bob
