Apple came over today and replaced the logic board on my computer. When I restarted it many of my programs no longer worked, requiring me to re-enter user names and passwords. So I entered my registration info in Spell Catcher X and it opened and appeared to be working until I tried to use the Shorthand option. I can see my Shorthand entries in the preferences window but this feature does not seem to be working. Any suggestions?

Upon further testing I discovered that actually no interactive features are working. No interactive spelling or shorthand. I reinstalled Spell Catcher X but it did not correct the problem.

Have you made sure that Spell Catcher has been turned "On" in the input menu, that the input menu (normally a flag icon at first, at least) appears in your menu bar, and that you have chosen Spell Catcher from the input menu to activate interactive features?

See the QuickTime movie in this FAQ to view how this is done (there are separate movies for Jaguar and Panther).

That fixed it. Thanks!

I am curious, (that's funny, I just typed the word curious wrong and the computer said "curious") anyways, I am wondering why Spell Catcher asked for me to enter my serial number again after I had the mother board replaced? None of my other software did this.

Because the license file it generates is "bound" to the specific Macintosh hardware you are using when you first enter your serial number.

This is done for various reasons, and will change in the future.
