There are times when I want to use the dictionary or thesaurus of Spellcatcher simply to investigate a word. Currently there is no way to do this without first creating a doc, typing in a word and then checking it. It would be nice if there were a menu item that would open the check word dialog box and then let you type a word in then and there without having to go through rigamarole of faking the 'checking' of a word. This would make dictionaries and thesaurus far more helpful and general purpose.
Enable use w/ no word selected

You should be able to open the Look Up or Check Word window without any selection having to be made first! You can't do it from the Services > Spell Catcher menu, but shouldn't be a problem from either the input menu or Dock menu.
You can always open those windows from within the Spell Catcher application itself - just choose what you want from the Window menu.
